Pond - Construction

I started of like most Koi Hobbyists with a small 5000l pond. After about a year I extended it to 15000l. After another few years I realised as my Koi grew larger that it would be cruel to keep them in a pond like this and decided to go for a large 38000l pond. Photos below will show progress from breaking up the old pond until the new pond was completed in March 2007. I think any Koi hobbyist will feel they could have a larger pond but I had to draw the line somewhere. This pond nevertheless gives me never ending pleasure and I spend a couple of hours per day with my fish. The pond was constructed like a swimming pool complete with Jet inlets to which I connected and external Venturi in the Pump house to get rid of the noise and 6mm Marblelite as sealant. It also has a Weir incase the new owner of the house for some bizarre reason would not be interested in Kois and would rather convert it to a swimming pool.
